The NOPP Office hosted an exhibit at the Ocean Sciences 2010 conference this week. NOPP also held a Town Hall on Ocean Partnerships: Collaborative Oceanographic Research of the Future on Tuesday, February 23rd.
National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP) held two peer review panels the first week of February. The NOPP Office received 14 proposal submissions in response to a FY 2010 NOPP Broad Agency Announcement on two topics: Improving Attachments of Electronic Data Loggers to Cetaceans and Improvements in High-Resolution, Tide-Resolving Global Ocean Predictions. The cetaceans topic includes four agency partners (ONR, NSF, MMS, and NOAA) and one industry funding partner (ExxonMobil). The topic will be funded at ~$900K per year for 3 years. The ocean predictions topic includes three agency partners (NOAA, NASA, and ONR) and up to $5 million is available over four years.
