During the month of September the NOPP Office attended a briefing held by the Marine Mammal Commission on the increasing awareness of the impacts of sound on marine mammals and their environment, with an emphasis on shipping. The NOPP Office also attended the celebration of the expansion of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, which is now the largest marine protected area in the world.
