The goals of the NOPP as stated in the NOPP Act, are executed through its committees and sub-committees. These include:
- The NOPP Committee made up of representatives from the Federal agencies investing in ocean science and technology (S&T) research and development efforts;
- The Interagency Working Group on Facilities and Infrastructure (IWG-FI), which consists of Federal agency representatives responsible for our Nation’s research fleet, autonomous vehicles, and other data/research-related infrastructure;
- The Ocean Research Advisory Panel (ORAP), the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) committee that consists of a broad range of academics and industry professionals who collaborate on providing the Federal ocean governance members with an overview on pressing marine science and technology issues.
